Crystal market: a way to study knowledge-based dynamic capabilities

Purpose In this work, the authors address a gap in literature on contribution of dynamic capabilities and internal contingencies to performance highly competitive environment. Design/methodology/approach The use data from Premier Football (soccer) League Portugal over ten years. This league works as laboratorial setting enables identify influences variables study. Findings find evidence that human capital is decisive team's performance. study’s findings question role alignment between different levels organization: strategic, tactical operational. Research limitations/implications With stress importance (1) using alternative scenarios management research (2) way social capitals managerial cognition influence development knowledge-based capabilities, especially regulated industries such has sports clubs. Practical implications work provides strategic coherence at structural organization. Furthermore, it highlights need secure right resources time. Originality/value propose run study: crystal market an original measure reflect relative achievement potential.
